About Me
Susan Stone Author/Creator
I AM ... I am a visionary artist, author, educator, and expressive arts content creator who is dedicated to teaching people of all ages and stages how to build emotional resilience using art and writing as coping skills. I am on a mission to publish my expressive arts journal program, The Dragonfly Process® and accompanying book, Making Art and Sense of Life's Miracles, Mishaps, and Misadventures© which explore themes like who we are, how we cope, and live with purpose. I hope to inspire people to discover their authentic selves and encourage them to share their unique gifts and talents simply by nurturing their creative spirits. I live with my husband and golden doodle, Bodhi, in Ventura, California and love video chatting with our daughter who is teaching kindergardten as a first year teacher in Az.
My Mission
The Dragonfly Process: Making Art and Sense of Life's Miracles, Mishaps, and Misadventures® is an arts based journal program designed to integrate social emotional learning through art and writing. It is intended for people of all ages and stages between 10 and 100, especially during times of transition, and is easily adapted to academic, therapeutic, and/or social group settings. The five specific art lessons explore life's essential questions, "Who was I then, who am I now and who am I becoming?" creating a deeply personal foundation to serve as a guide through times of inevitable growth and change. The Dragonfly Process® uses a multi-layered learning approach so that each new idea builds upon the last and helps individuals make the lessons "stick" by creating something memorable with their hands.
